CTTC is responsible for the textiles standardization work, and undertakes the secretariats of SAC/TC209 (National Standardization Technical Committee on Textiles), SAC/TC209/SC1 (Subcommittee on Base and Test Methods), SAC/TC209/SC4 (Subcommittee on Bast Fiber Textiles) and SAC/TC209/SC7 (Subcommittee on Industrial Textiles). Meanwhile, CTTC also undertakes China Technical Mirror Committee to ISO/TC38 (Technical Committee on Textiles), as well as the secretariats of ISO/TC38/SC2 and ISO/TC38/SC23.

CTTC is in charge of developing and revising the national standards and industry standards for textiles, and the review of standards. CTTC has been carrying out research on textile standards and testing technologies, promoting textile standards in the industry, and providing customers with consulting services on various textile standards and testing technologies.
